Greetings!

I am James and I'll be your host for this website. Major topics of discussion tend to include Linux, software usability, programming, and video games.

About this site

I usually think things about stuff. Occasionally I type words and put them here. The level of articulation may vary from post to post, as will whether I feel like writing something other than a first draft. You may not expect intelligent, well written works of high literature. You are allowed, however, to be pleasantly surprised when stumbling across such material on this site.

About me

First and foremost, I am a Christian. I say this in the sense that I follow Christ; I may or may not agree with what the pope or Martin Luther have said at any given time. I believe in the power of prayer and God's ability to change variables in the universe as he may please. I also respect his divine authority to decline such requests.

I'm also of the view that the bible is the true, unchanging word of God; if it says something, it must be true. Note that our understanding of scripture may change from time to time, but that just means we were wrong, not that scripture has changed. My worldview and logic are shaped from this stuff and I endeavour to provide satisfactory explanations to people who want to know more or hash things out.

Secondly, I am a student. Knowledge grows exponentially and I'm way behind on all of it. This blog is a reflection of some of the neat stuff I learn and think about. In a more spatial sense, I'm also a computer science student at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.

Thirdly, I am a nerd. You'll find lots of stuff about computers in general here. I'm interested in neat algorithms, application usability, video game design, and shiny things in general.

Fourthly, I am a ninja. Is this a factual statement? A metaphor? Is James actually a master of stealth; an unstoppable force in any capture the flag game? This mystery shall remain... unexamined.
