I’ve been using the Firefox 4 betas recently, and they’re pretty nice. Enough to sway me from Chrome’s elegant simplicity, even. Mostly because of one feature: Panorama. It’s a little button in the top right corner of the window. When you click it, everything but the window frame disappears and little thumbnails of every open tab appear. You can drag the tabs near each other group them by what you’re doing.

FEZ RELEASED FROM UNEXPECTED SOURCE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
In a move some have called “too indie for words”, Rinkuhero has released Fezbefore Polytron Corporation. While bystanders were overjoyed that the title was playable on their personal computers, some expressed confusion. “Wait, what?” responded one interviewee. “I expected it to be more made by Phil Fish” commented another.
While the main character’s head is noticeably Fez-less in this initial release, Phil Fish has confirmed that he will be partnering with Valve to release an in-game Fez hat (as well as a variety of other headwear) via reasonably priced DLC.

HTML 5 Support Fail

Dear Safari/Chrome,
Implementing the HTML 5 “date” field, except broken, isn’t helping. Web developers are supposed to just be able to test for browser support, use something like jQueryas a stopgap, and everything will magically work via HTML 5 in the future. Opera has a nice little dropdown calendar. Internet Explorer and Firefox don’t do anything. They get this.
Chrome renders date fields as a spinboxstarting on September 15th, 1582 (1582-09-15).

Idea

Suddenly I had a great idea for the software I was writing. I was like, “All my scratch paper is full. Sticky notes aren’t big enough. What will I do? I must capture this burst of genius before it escapes.” There was a napkin on the desk. “Sweet, I’ll sketch on the back of a napkin. I’ve always wanted to do this. Behold, the birth of a great idea.” Crumbs scattered across the desk as the napkin was flipped in preparation.
